Once in while, you come across something which just grabs you. A work of art, piece of music or a picture. Maybe it’s the progression of chords in a song, the way melodies interact with each other. The work of art could be an old oil painting from an artist long gone which captures an expression or scene, or it could be a spontaneous picture you stumble across on the internet. For whatever reason, we are captivated and something in our soul is awakened and time stands still.
Yeah, so .. this gem cropped up on Facebook and I thought I’d share what it brought to mind. The image is of a humorous exchange between, I am guessing, a fictional Sheikh and his son who is studying abroad.
So, I am sat here, with my damn phone in my hand, and thinking, “I wish I could send a text message to God. Just to, you know, check in. Let him know how things are.”.

So, thanks for coming back for more. In the last post I tried to figure out what the first couple of lines of the Lord’s Prayer mean to me. I tried to get my head around the idea of being able to call a Holy God, Father. The next couple of lines that I want to think about now are about God’s Kingdom being on earth in the same way as it is in heaven. Continue reading “The Lord’s Prayer 2/5 – Your will be done”
For Christ followers the world over, the “Lord’s Prayer” is probably the most important prayer and one that is also known off by heart by many of those who don’t follow Christ. Continue reading “The Lord’s Prayer 1/5 – Our Father in Heaven”
